AMC Fees
March 10th, 2011 10:00 AM
How many of you are working with AMC's? If you are, how is it going? Are you fees "customary and reasonable?" Are you accepting fees below your standards? It seems many appraisers
are
accepting fees below their standards just to get an assignment. If you are an experienced appraiser with high standards, delivering good appraisals in a timely manner you should not have to lower your standards and accept low fees. If enough appraisers do not accept these lower fees, perhaps the AMC's will have to bend and pay for good work. Take a chance: when they send you an assignment, stick to your fee. They may not give it to you then, but see if they call back. They may not find anyone to perform their appraisal for a lower fee. There is some truth to the old adage, "Power in Numbers." Let's find out together.
